| LILAC Provides comprehensive support for the processing or
orders, sales and purchasing, inventory & stock control
oriented around the product packaging and processing common
in abattoir, cold store and meat distribution applications. Essentially this relates to accounting for stock movements, purchases and sales in terms of an item concept where an item may represent a carcass, side, quarter or carton, as well as accounting for Kg and per Kg costing of stock. |

| A frequent requirement in Meat Applications is to keep track of
stock by item, quantity and value on a location by location
basis, where a location may be a geographic site, and/or a
particular cold room or freezer. LILAC provides a powerful multi-branch and multi-warehouse structure which is open-ended and flexible, with the provision of stock transfer processing and consolidated stock, purchase and sales-analysis reporting. Stock may be transferred from one location to another electronically, by manual key-board entry, with bar-code scanning, or combinations of these. |

| The most effective mode of operation utilises radio interfaced laser bar-code scanning devices in the cold-room, warehouse, receiving and despatch situations. A variety of devices may be employed - new technology is continuously emerging in this area. LILAC provides for a fully dynamic on-line mode of operation where individual items are scanned directly against order data in the database. and the progress of filling an order can be continuously monitored from any LILAC PC workstation. |

| The Cipherlab hand-held laser scanners are the most frequently used with a reputation for robustness & reliability. They operate as a Telnet Clients via standard IP protocols and LILAC supports the operation by implementing a pseudo-Telnet server interface which creates a direct conduit into the LILAC database from scanners operating locally or remotely, potentially anywhere on the public Internet, in an efficient form of Virtual Private Networking |

| The seamless integration of local and wide area networking that LILAC provides by its no-compromise use of TCP/IP Client/Server architecture, is especially beneficial in Meat Industry enterprises which are frequently multi-site and multi-warehouse in structure. Order Entry, Invoicing, Administration work-stations can be conveniently located as any geographical locations and have instant, on-line dynamic access to activity in abattoir, cold-store and distribution locations. |

| As well as order processing and stock control, LILAC offers an optional Meat production module, for use in the abattoir or boning operations which has strong support for weight scale interfaces, bar-code and other label printing, production stock accounting and more. |

bar-code encoding, both in printing and scanning
operations, as well as a flexible format approach for
older style bar-codes like SASTEK etc, allowing the
processing of bar-coded product from many different
suppliers. Lennox Computer will implement and support all aspects of Abattoir, Cold Store, Distribution and Shipping of Livestock, Meat and Perishable Products. |
