| A specially tailored version of the LILAC Inventory, Order Processing & Accounting software is available for Timber Milling,
Timber Wholesale and Timber Retail applications. It combines all the generality and power of the full LILAC suite of business
automation functions, with well-designed extensions for the correct handling of dimensions, quantities, prices, surcharges,
discounts & freight charge applicable to the timber product. Lennox Computer have been designing and supporting software for timber industry enterprises for over twenty years, and combine extensive experience of the needs of the industry with the ability to deliver modern state-of-the-art Windows based software. The software works with a product coding scheme based on "end-section dimensions" for timber length product which also accommodates sheet, sawn and moulded product as required. Orders, Picking Lists, Invoices, despatch documents etc, are created in terms of Quantity/Length pairs which are in common use in the industry e.g. 10/2.4 20/2.7 etc, and the software computes all the quantities, pricing and ensuing calculations by automatic conversion to the appropriate unit e.g.M3 for cubic metres. |
| Product Codes are of the form HWD025025, where the trailing 6 digits indicate the end-section
dimensions of the piece of timber as two 3-digit value in mm with leading zeros as necessary. The description fields are created with the general form: 25 x 25 Sawn Hardwood F14 CCA which is understood to be the basic product upon which all subsequent price calculations are to be based. Prices 1 to 4 in the LILAC Stock Account document will be used to specify four different prices per unit (M3, M, CL, etc) for each range of lengths, viz: 1.8 to 4.5, 4.8 to 6.0, 6.3 to 7.2, 7.5 to 8.4 Surcharges for various extra processing of the timber will be indicated by the operator editing the description field on the sales order to add a selection of predefined three letter codes from the set: (APG, SZD, DAR, F17, F22, IBK, FRG, SPG). The price per M3 for these surcharges will be established in database tables indexed by customer category. A discount for an individual customer will be applied automatically to the price calculated in the preceding steps, and used as an input to the FIY price calculation. Freight charges are established in a table of rates per customer per Tonne e.g. $32/T. The software add a price factor per M3 derived from this rate per Tonne and multiplied by a density e.g. 1.3 for sawn product, or 1.25 for SZD, or DAR product. The density is established in the Stock Account record. |

| The LILAC Timber Industry package provides "timber tally" data entry and calculation in a number of programs - purchase
order and stock receivals, sales order, yard order and sales invoice (wholesale trading) and point of sale (retail trading). LILAC contains specially designed features to address the needs of saw mills, wholesale timber yards, retail timber yards, hardware and timber outlets, truss and frame manufacturers, and of course multi-faceted enterprises which are combinations of these activities. |
